The AK Party held its 8th Ordinary Grand Congress yesterday. Only 39 members were included in the new list of the 75-member Central Decision-Making and Administrative Board (MKYK), which is the party's decision-making body. Out of the 18 members of President Erdoğan's A team in the Executive Board (MYK), 17 secured a place in the MKYK again. In the congress, which had many details, 1,607 delegates were gifted watches.

In the 8th Ordinary Grand Congress of the AK Party, President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was re-elected as the chairman, receiving the votes of 1547 out of 1607 delegates. The party's Central Executive Board and the Central Decision and Management Board, consisting of 75 members, were also determined by the same vote.
NAMES IN THE MYK Efkan Ala and Mustafa Elitaş were appointed as Deputy Chairmen of the AK Party in the Central Executive Board. Hayati Yazıcı will serve as the Head of Political and Legal Affairs, Ahmet Büyükgümüş as the Head of Organization, Ali İhsan Yavuz as the Head of Election Affairs, Muhammed Faruk Acar as the Head of Promotion and Media, and Zafer Sırakaya as the Head of Foreign Relations. Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya became the Head of Social Policies, Mustafa Demir the Head of Local Governments, Nihat Zeybekci the Head of Economic Affairs, Belgin Uygur the Head of Civil Society and Public Relations, and Hasan Basri Yalçın the Head of Human Rights. It is stated that Vedat Demiröz, who could not find a place on the list, will take over the Discretionary Fund.
MKYK LIST President Erdoğan increased the number of deputies in the new MKYK from 13 to 29. It was noted that President Erdoğan would increase this number to strengthen the bond between the Parliament and the party. Some of those deputies are as follows: "Chairman of the Digital Media Commission and AK Party Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman, AK Party Istanbul Deputies Halit Yerebakan, Mustafa Demir, Hulki Cevizoğlu, Nilhan Ayan, Derya Ayaydın, and Sevan Sıvacıoğlu, Kayseri Deputy Dursun Ataş, Kocaeli Deputy Sadettin Hülagü, and Tekirdağ Deputy Gökhan Diktaş."
In the MKYK list, Osman Gökçek, son of former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek, and Derya Ayaydın, daughter of former CHP Deputy Aydın Ayaydın, are included for the first time, while Ömer Faruk Besli, son of former Istanbul Deputy Hüseyin Besli, also found a place on this list again. Bülent Arınç, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, also succeeded in re-entering the MKYK. Arınç found a place in the MKYK for the third time with the new term.
Football player Mesut Özil, economist Abdülkadir Develi, former General Manager of the Credit Guarantee Fund economist İsmet Gergerli, and academician Zakir Avşar were included in the new MKYK list. Additionally, Abdurrahman Akyüz, President of the Turkey Wushu Kung Fu Federation, Cihad Terzioğlu, Deputy Chairman of MÜSİAD, and Fatih Sadullah Selman, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Turkey Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV), also made it to the MKYK list. Selçuk Sümer from the Deputy Chairmen of Information and Communication Technologies and Fadime Zehra Şener from the Deputy Chairmen of Istanbul Provincial Organization also succeeded in entering the list. Former Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız and former Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen were also included in the list.
NUMBER OF WOMEN DECREASED Erdoğan reduced the number of women in the MKYK from 17 to 12 in the new term. Ayşe Keşir and Eyyüp Kadir İnan, who changed in the General Center Women's and Youth Branch Congresses, also succeeded in entering the MKYK, while Orhan Miroğlu, who stood out with his recent statements regarding party policies, was left off the list. Additionally, former Minister of Transport Ahmet Arslan, former Women's Branch Chair Lütfiye Selva Çam, Diyanet TV presenter Nurhayati İnanç, former referee Kuddusi Müftüoğlu, and retired general Remzi Albasan could not enter the MKYK.
THOSE WHO RESIGNED ENTERED THE MKYK At the congress, almost all of the names who recently resigned from their parties and joined the AK Party were included in the list. Serap Yazıcı Özbudun, a deputy from Antalya and one of the founders of the Future Party, along with Ankara Deputy Nedim Yamalı, former football player and İYİ Party Konya Deputy Ünal Karaman, Kayseri Deputy Dursun Ataş, Eskişehir Deputy İdris Nebi Hatipoğlu, Ankara Deputy Kürşad Zorlu, and Istanbul Deputy Seyithan İzsiz were included in the new MKYK.
SIGNED WATCHES WERE GIFTED On the other hand, during the congress, which included many details, watches were gifted to 1,607 delegates. The detail of Erdoğan's signature on the watch did not go unnoticed. It was learned that the value of the watches is 4,000 lira.
