After U.S. President Trump's cancellation of his meeting with Russian leader Putin, Moscow took a striking step. Under Putin's command, the Russian army conducted exercises with strategic nuclear weapons. As intercontinental ballistic and cruise missiles were launched, Moscow officially issued a warning.

The Russian Armed Forces conducted a drill for the use of strategic nuclear weapons under the command of President Vladimir Putin. The drill involved air, land, and naval forces, and intercontinental ballistic and cruise missiles were launched.

INSTRUCTIONS WITH NUCLEAR WEAPONS FROM RUSSIA

The Russian Strategic Nuclear Forces conducted a drill with land, sea, and air elements under the command of Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the drill, intercontinental ballistic missiles and air-launched cruise missiles were fired. As part of the exercise, a nuclear-capable "Yars" intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Kura training ground in Kamchatka.

MISSILES WERE LAUNCHED

At the same time, the Bryansk strategic nuclear missile submarine fired the "Sineva" ballistic missile from the Barents Sea. It was reported that all tasks were successfully completed during the drill, which also included Tu-95MS long-range aircraft. Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov informed Putin during a meeting held as part of the exercise.

Russia's nuclear-armed drill came at a time of uncertainty regarding the summit expected to be held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.

TRUMP: I DON'T WANT TO MEET FOR NO REASON

U.S. President Donald Trump announced last week that he would soon meet with Putin in Hungary to end the war in Ukraine. In reports based on an unnamed source from the U.S. press yesterday, it was stated that Russia was reluctant to adhere to Trump's peace strategy. A White House official said, "Secretary of State Rubio and Foreign Minister Lavrov had a productive phone call. Therefore, an additional face-to-face meeting between the ministers is not necessary. President Trump does not plan to meet with President Putin in the near future," he stated.

Trump also stated yesterday, "I don't want to have a meeting for no reason. I don't want to waste time," but he mentioned that there could be further developments and that they would provide "updates within the next 2 days."

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced today that preparations for the meeting planned between Trump and Putin in Budapest are ongoing, and the date of the meeting is still uncertain.
