Turkey reacted to the Israeli parliament's approval of a bill that envisions the annexation of illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank during a preliminary vote. In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was said, "This provocative step taken at a time when efforts are ongoing to establish peace in Gaza threatens the environment of security and stability. The West Bank, under Israeli occupation, is Palestinian land."

The Israeli Parliament has approved a bill that envisions the annexation of illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank. According to reports from the Israeli press, 24 members of the Israeli parliament voted "no" while 25 members voted "yes" in the preliminary vote on the bill.

FOREIGN MINISTRY: ISRAEL'S WEST BANK MOVE IS AGAINST INTERNATIONAL LAW

Turkey reacted to Israel's scandalous decision. In a statement from the Foreign Ministry, the following was expressed: "The step taken by the Israeli parliament towards the annexation of the occupied West Bank is against international law and is null and void."

"THE WEST BANK IS PALESTINIAN LAND"

This provocative step taken during a period when efforts to establish peace in Gaza are ongoing threatens the already sensitive security and stability environment in the region. The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967, is Palestinian land. Israel's unlawful faits accomplis in the West Bank should not be allowed.

Turkey will continue to support efforts to defend the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and to realize an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with geographical integrity, with its capital in East Jerusalem, based on the 1967 borders."
