The passenger in the overturned bus in Sivas said, "The driver saved our lives."

In a passenger bus accident in the Imranli district of Sivas, 24 people were injured. It was learned that the calm behavior of the bus driver prevented any loss of life in the accident.

24 PEOPLE INJURED, NO LOSS OF LIFE

A passenger bus with license plate number 02 KD 571, driven by Cafer Kilic (65), overturned at the Çukuryurt location on the Sivas-Erzincan highway, resulting in 24 people being injured. It was reported that the injured, who were taken to the Imranli District Hospital, were not in critical condition. In a statement made by the Sivas Governorate regarding the accident, it was stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle while overtaking and the bus overturned.

"IF I HADN'T ACTED CALMLY, WE WOULD ALL HAVE DIED"

Speaking about the accident, bus driver Cafer Kilic stated that he deliberately overturned the bus to the side of the road in order to avoid colliding with a vehicle that was overtaking on a single-lane road. Kilic said, "There was road construction in the direction I was going. A vehicle was coming from the opposite direction. I turned the vehicle to the embankment so that it wouldn't hit us. It was killing so many people while overtaking on a single-lane road. I tilted the vehicle to the embankment. I saved everyone's life. My assistant was with me. If I hadn't acted so calmly, we would definitely have all died," he said.

'THE DRIVER WHO SAVED OUR LIVES'

Veysel Memis, who was a passenger on the bus, said, "I was sitting in the 16th seat. The driver saved our lives. A vehicle coming from the opposite direction was directly coming towards the bus. The driver moved the vehicle to the right. Thankfully, he saved us," he said.
