In the Urla district of İzmir, during a dispute over eviction, the landlord shot his tenant with a gun. According to the information received, a disagreement arose between the tenant Rıdvan Çelik (37) and the landlord N.Ü. (54) in front of his house in Atatürk Neighborhood. As the argument escalated, N.Ü. fired at Çelik with his unlicensed gun.
THE PARTIES HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING A RENT DISPUTE FOR A WHILE
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The arriving teams determined that Çelik had lost his life. N.Ü. was taken into custody by the police. It was learned that the parties had been unable to agree on the rent amount for some time, and that the landlord N.Ü. wanted the house to be vacated, which led to the argument.
