A proposal for minimum wage from a partner of the People's Alliance that will put the government in a difficult position.

21.12.2024 16:20

The leader of the Great Unity Party, Mustafa Destici, stated, "In our opinion, the minimum wage increase rate for January 2025 should be 60%. In fact, this is not even a figure that meets expectations. However, we are presenting a serious number while also considering the realities. We are not making unrealistic promises like some others."

The General President of the Great Unity Party, Mustafa Destici, met with party members in Trabzon, where he came for the Black Sea workshop program. Before the program, Destici made statements, using striking expressions regarding the minimum wage figure for 2025, which millions of workers are eagerly awaiting.

"THE INCREASE RATE SHOULD BE 60 PERCENT"

Expressing that the minimum wage increase rate should be 60 percent, Destici, one of the partners of the People's Alliance, stated, "In our opinion; if a new meeting is not held in July 2025 to update the minimum wage, the increase rate for the minimum wage in January 2025 should be 60 percent. In fact, this is not even a figure that meets expectations. But we are presenting a serious figure, taking into account the realities. We are not throwing around numbers like some others. By laying a foundation; we are realistically proposing the annual inflation, the inflation that will occur in 2025, and all of these. We believe that our proposal will be accepted. Already, an increase below 50 percent can never be accepted. Hopefully, with an increase at least around 60 percent, our minimum wage earners can at least take a breath."

"FOR SOME REASON, THIS IS HOW IT IS IN OUR COUNTRY"

Without naming names, Destici criticized the DEM Party deputies, saying, "For 40 years, we have been fighting against terrorism as a country. But during these 40 years, this state has not only fought against the terrorists in the mountains. This nation has also fought and continues to fight against their political extensions. Look, even today, in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, a so-called deputy stands alongside the terrorists in our fight against terrorism. They openly express this in the Assembly. You cannot see this in any other country in the world. The enemy of the country, who has massacred tens of thousands of people, has martyred thousands of soldiers and police officers, cannot be supported by anyone, nor will it be allowed. But for some reason, this has been the case in our country for years. But we promise our nation. If you give power to the Great Unity Party, if the Great Unity Party has a group in the Assembly, if the Great Unity Party comes to power; we will never allow any PKK member or their supporters to remain in any part of Turkey, not just in that Assembly," he said.

CRITICISM OF ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

Addressing CHP General President Özgür Özel, Destici criticized the main opposition party, saying, "Mr. Özel, you should not support traitors to the homeland, nor those who defend traitors, nor those who insult the Turkish Armed Forces, nor those who make comparisons to terrorists; what you should do is to stand by the Turkish Armed Forces and the Republic of Turkey. These Kemalists, secularists, and so-called Atatürkists have become so lost that they support those who compare the Turkish Armed Forces to a terrorist organization. On one hand, they claim to support young lieutenants; their insincerity is as clear as day. Institutionally, they are also joining hands with the PKK's extension, DEM. They continue to support them in all areas, especially in the Assembly, as in the case of trustees. We are at war, friends. Look, the Republic of Turkey is at war. Even if there is no official declaration of war, it is at war. On one hand, we are fighting against terrorism, but from Syria to Libya, Somalia, Palestine, and Azerbaijan, Turkey is in a state of war with its adversaries, even if not officially. Especially in Syria, we are in an undeclared war. In this war, we face the USA, and until yesterday, there was Russia," he stated.
