After the match played between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe, VAR decisions have once again become a topic of discussion. ESH Sports has proposed a solution based on "nano sensor" technology to more effectively evaluate the harsh interventions and controversial positions that occurred during the match. In this proposal, it is stated that nano sensors integrated into players' cleats, socks, and jerseys can measure the intensity of contact and instantly transmit this information to the VAR system. This way, the details of collisions and touches can be analyzed more clearly. Thus, it can be assessed more reliably whether the positions require a yellow or red card or if a foul has occurred. FAST DATA FLOW WITH 5G INFRASTRUCTURETo enable the instant transmission of this data, a low-latency 5G network needs to be established in the stadium. With this infrastructure, all data coming from the nano sensors can be instantly transmitted to the VAR computer, speeding up decisions and increasing their accuracy. AI-SUPPORTED VARESH Sports also proposes AI support for the VAR system. The AI, which analyzes the data sent by the nano sensors, can evaluate the intensity of the contact and whether a foul has occurred, providing suggestions to the VAR referee. However, the final decision still belongs to the human referee; the AI only plays a supportive role.
