OPERATION AGAINST ANIMAL SMUGGLING
Bilecik Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams carried out work to capture individuals engaged in illegal wildlife trade. As a result of technical and physical surveillance, several addresses in the city center were identified.
Based on the obtained information, operations were conducted at the residences of O.K., R.Ş., and Ş.Ö. During the searches at the addresses, a 6-month-old labyrinth python, approximately 1 meter long, was found, which is native to South Asia.
PYTHON PLACED UNDER PROTECTION
The seized python was handed over to the teams of the Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate. It was learned that the snake was later taken to the Bursa Zoo for protection.
It was reported that the processing of the suspects detained during the operation is ongoing at the gendarmerie. Additionally, it was stated that an administrative action was taken against one person by the Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate.
