After rabies virus was detected in cattle at a facility in Ardahan, a quarantine has been implemented in the region.

Quarantine measures have been initiated in the region after rabies virus was detected in cattle at a facility in Ardahan.

In the central Gürçayır neighborhood, the situation was reported to the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry after a cattle at a facility fell ill. Subsequently, samples taken from the cow at the facility were sent to the Erzurum Veterinary Control and Research Institute.

QUARANTINE IMPLEMENTATION INITIATED

Following the examination, the animal was culled after the test result came back positive. While necessary measures to protect animal and human health were taken by the relevant institutions, teams from the Animal Health, Breeding, and Fisheries Branch Directorate initiated efforts to determine the spread of the disease in the region.

Quarantine implementation has been initiated in the area where the facility is located.
