NATURAL GAS LINE DAMAGED, FLAMES GREW
Immediately after the lightning strike, the gymnastics hall was engulfed in flames within a short time. Due to the impact of the lightning, the facility's natural gas line was also damaged, and local residents who saw the flames covering the sky immediately reported the situation to authorities. Upon the notification, numerous firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene.
A CATASTROPHE WAS AVERTED
Kastamonu Municipality firefighting teams arriving at the scene quickly intervened in the fire. As a result of the teams' intensive efforts, the fire was brought under control and extinguished without spreading to other buildings adjacent to the gymnastics hall. Cooling operations by the firefighting teams in the area continue.
