As applications for the primary elections opened in the CHP, members began to sign for the candidates they desired. It was noteworthy that the suffix "nun" was included in the forms prepared for the primary elections. The fact that the "nun" suffix only fits İmamoğlu's surname led to comments such as "Even the candidacy form has been prepared according to İmamoğlu."
While discussions about early elections continue in politics, the process of determining presidential candidates within the Republican People's Party has begun. Within the framework of the process carried out by the CHP Parliamentary Group Management, members of parliament write and sign the name of the person they wish to nominate on the prepared petition.
PRIMARY ELECTION FORM REVEALED
According to the announced schedule, applications for presidential candidacy will continue until February 21. After the start of the signature collection process by the members of parliament, the prepared primary election form has also been revealed.
THE FORM HAS BEEN PREPARED ACCORDING TO İMAMOĞLU
The indication in the presidential candidacy proposal form that the section for writing names is specified as "......... ......... 'nun" has also sparked discussions about whether there was guidance within the CHP Parliamentary Group.
İMAMOĞLU: WHO WILL BE CANDIDATES WILL BE CLARIFIED
İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu also made a statement today regarding the process, saying, "On Friday, it will be clarified who the candidates are. After that, voting will take place on March 23. That is also clear. The candidates will be announced after March 23. Hopefully. I do not like to say anything abruptly in these matters, in internal party processes, without maturation. Right now, there are dynamic structures in this matter. Our members of parliament have signature processes. We are in a time frame where our party organization, provincial heads, and other executives are currently evaluating the process. Their judgments are very valuable to me," he said.
MANSUR YAVAŞ SAID "I'M NOT IN IT"
Yavaş, who conveyed his decision to Özgür Özel and Ekrem İmamoğlu, whom he met on the evening of February 9, emphasized that he is not against the primary election but will not participate. Yavaş, who wanted alternative methods to be considered in candidate determination, stated that the primary election would lead to "division within the party."
