A dispute over a relocation assignment between a teacher couple in Antalya ended in a massacre. A geography teacher killed his wife, who requested a transfer, and his father-in-law, who got involved in the argument, with a pump-action shotgun. It was revealed that during the incident, the three children aged 2.5, 5, and 9, who were in the house at the time, took refuge in their rooms upon their mother's warning.
A blood-curdling incident occurred around 10:00 AM in an apartment on the first floor of a 5-story building located at 212th Street, Memurevleri Neighborhood, Muratpaşa district of Antalya.
DISPUTE OVER ASSIGNMENT According to the information obtained, a dispute broke out between geography teacher Orhan B. (43) and his wife, Arabic teacher Aslıhan Öztürk B. (40), allegedly because Aslıhan B. requested a transfer. Aslıhan Öztürk B.'s father, Cafer Tayyar Öztürk (74), who was visiting from Bursa, also joined the argument.
MOTHER SENT CHILDREN TO THEIR ROOM, FATHER FIRED A HAIL OF BULLETS During the argument, Aslıhan B. told her children, aged 9, 5, and 2.5, to go to their rooms, while Orhan B. fired 5 shots at his wife and father-in-law with a pump-action shotgun in the house. Upon hearing the gunshots, neighbors alerted authorities, and police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. It was reported that Orhan B. locked the door after the incident, but police officers persuaded him to open it.
KILLED HIS WIFE AND FATHER-IN-LAW When the teams entered the house, they found Aslıhan B. and her father Cafer Tayyar Öztürk lying motionless on the floor. Medical checks determined that Aslıhan B. had died on the balcony, while Cafer Tayyar Öztürk had died in the living room.
Killed Aslıhan B. "WE FOUND OUT FROM THE GUNSHOTS" Ayşe Ateş, a neighbor who said she looked after the family's children, stated, "We found out from the gunshots. 3-4 shots were fired, everyone went outside, they called 112. I raised their daughters myself. I took her when she was 3.5 months old and cared for her until she was 2. We've been neighbors for about 10 years. He shot his father-in-law and wife. There was a problem within the family, but to what extent, I don't know."
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
