In Adana, narcotics police seized 66,600 drug pills from a car they stopped on the highway. The driver M.A.Ç. and other suspects were arrested.
In Adana, narcotics police seized 66,600 drug pills hidden under the door panels of a car they stopped on the highway. The driver M.A.Ç. (19) stated, "My father was sick, I was going to visit him. I had no knowledge of the drugs." M.A.Ç. and E.M.Y. (17), who was with him, along with V.G., who was identified as being connected to the drugs, were arrested.
PILLS WERE FOUND UNDER THE CAR'S UPHOLSTERY
Teams from the Provincial Security Directorate's Narcotics Crime Investigation Branch acted upon receiving information that a large amount of drugs would be brought to the city. The teams stopped the car they were following on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) Highway at the city entrance. A search was conducted with the narcotics dog 'Tinga' in the vehicle from which M.A.Ç. and E.M.Y. were removed. After Tinga reacted to the doors, a detailed search revealed 66,600 drug pills hidden under the upholstery. M.A.Ç. and E.M.Y. were taken into custody.
2 MORE SUSPECTS ARRESTED
During the interrogation of M.A.Ç. taken to the police station, he said, "My father was sick, I was going to visit him. I had no knowledge of the drugs in the vehicle." The other suspect E.M.Y. also denied the accusations against him. The narcotics police arrested V.G. (25) and I.M. (23), who were found to be connected to the drugs, during a raid at their addresses.
3 ARRESTS
After their procedures at the police station, M.A.Ç., E.M.Y., and V.G. were arrested by the court they were brought to, while I.M. was released under judicial control.
