A 25-year-old student named Luqmaan Khan, studying at the University of Delaware, was arrested on charges of planning a violent attack against campus police. Weapons and attack plans found in Khan's vehicle and home were discovered during a traffic stop. The university announced that the student has been banned from all campuses. Khan will face serious federal charges, including illegal possession of a machine gun.

A potential university massacre in Delaware, USA, was thwarted at the last moment thanks to a routine traffic stop. Police found a cache of weapons and detailed attack plans against campus police in the vehicle of 25-year-old student Luqmaan Khan.

VEHICLE LIKE A CACHE

Khan was apprehended last week during a routine traffic stop in New Castle County. Authorities discovered a Glock .357 handgun loaded with 27 rounds, three 27-round magazines, armored ballistic plates, a notebook, and a composition book in the student's vehicle.

The notebook contained plans on "how to use the weapons in an attack," "how to escape police detection," and entry-exit plans for the Delaware University Police Department building.

ILLEGAL MACHINE GUN CONVERTER FOUND AT HIS HOME

According to Fox News, the situation worsened during an FBI raid on Khan's home in Wilmington. Authorities seized a Glock 19 equipped with an illegal part called a "Switch," which converts the handgun into a fully automatic machine gun, a rifle with a scope and red dot sight, 11 extended magazines, and tactical vests containing empty cartridges.

The prosecution believes that all this equipment was prepared for a campus attack.

UNIVERSITY SUSPENDED THE STUDENT

Laura Carlson, the Interim President of the University of Delaware, confirmed that Khan is an undergraduate student and announced that he has been banned from all campuses and temporarily suspended from the university until the investigation is concluded.

PROSECUTION: A MAJOR DISASTER AVERTED

Acting U.S. Attorney Julianne E. Murray emphasized the importance of the coordinated operation, stating: "This case is a perfect collaboration to neutralize a serious threat in Delaware before the worst-case scenario occurred."

UP TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON

Luqmaan Khan will be prosecuted on serious federal charges, including possession of an illegal machine gun. The total penalty for the crimes could be up to 10 years in prison.
