A 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sivrice district of Elazığ. The earthquake was felt not only in Elazığ but also in surrounding provinces such as Malatya, Tunceli, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Kahramanmaraş, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Erzincan, and Sivas. AFAD and Elazığ Governor Numan Hatipoğlu stated that there were no negative situations in the city following the earthquake.

In a statement made by AFAD after the earthquake, it was said, "As of now, there is no negative situation following the 4.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 21:09 in the Sivrice district of our Elazığ province and was also felt in our Malatya province. Field scanning works are ongoing. We extend our best wishes to the affected citizens."
