The United States, along with Mexico and Canada, will offer expedited visa options for those who purchase tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. U.S. President Donald Trump announced an application called 'FIFA PASS' that will prioritize the visa process for football fans attending the tournament.
US President Donald Trump announced the visa application called FIFA PASS, which is part of the preparations for the World Cup, during a statement made in the Oval Office with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and some American officials.
Trump stated that thanks to the collaborative efforts of the relevant institutions and the intense efforts of the Department of State, the system implemented will allow those who purchase tickets from FIFA's official sources to apply for visas more quickly through the "FIFA Prioritized Appointment System." This application will enable fans who do not yet have a US visa to complete their applications before the matches begin.
"A ONCE IN A LIFETIME HONOR"
Trump emphasized that hosting the World Cup is "a once in a lifetime honor" and highlighted that additional measures have been taken to ensure the events occur safely.
$35 BILLION MEGA ECONOMY
Trump noted that the tournament is expected to contribute approximately $35 billion to the US economy, stating that small and medium-sized enterprises, which will provide services in many cities, will significantly benefit from this economic activity.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, under the joint organization of the US, Canada, and Mexico. The draw will take place on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
The majority of the matches will be played in 11 US cities. The winner of the tournament will be determined in the final at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.
