In a speech at his party's group meeting, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli reiterated his call for the commission to go to İmralı. Bahçeli stated, "If no one goes, I will take three of my friends with me; I will not hesitate to go to İmralı on my own means and meet face to face at a table." The MHP leader asked the MHP deputies in the hall, "Do you allow me to go to İmralı?" and the hall erupted in applause.
MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli spoke at the group meeting of his party in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. While the process of a terrorism-free Turkey continues, Bahçeli stated that the commission established in the Parliament should once again go to İmralı.
Bahçeli said that if the commission does not go to İmralı, he himself will go and turned to the members of parliament, asking, "Do you allow me to go to İmralı?"
"I WILL GO TO İMRALI MYSELF"
Seeking permission from the public and receiving a standing ovation, Bahçeli said, "There is no possibility of turning back in this process. The commission, which will hold its 17th meeting today, has now entered the final stretch. A point must be put to the discussions of whether to go to İmralı or not. If direct contact is not established with one of the main interlocutors of the process, how will results be achieved? There is no point in resisting. If no one is willing to make this visit, I openly say that I will take 3 of my friends with me and I will not hesitate to go; if no one goes, I will go to İmralı myself."
"I AM CALLING OUT TO MY COMRADES..."
Continuing his remarks, Bahçeli asked, "I am calling out to my comrades. Do you allow me to go to İmralı?" MHP members applauded Bahçeli standing. He then said, "Here is the essence of the nation, the essence of the nation's decision is here."
