The Şimşekler Group of Adana Demirspor announced that they have launched a fundraising campaign due to the club's debt, which amounts to 884 million TL.
Adana Demirspor fans called for support and solidarity for their team, which will be relegated to the 1st League with 2 points from the Super League. They announced through a press conference that they expect support from the city's prominent MPs, business people, and all fans for the aid campaign launched with the slogan 'Long Live Demirspor.'
'WE MUST ADOPT AN APPROACH THAT PLANS FOR THE FUTURE' Speaking at the meeting, İbrahim Kandemir, a board member of the Şimşekler Group Supporters Association, stated that the situation the club is in is not just a financial crisis. Kandemir said, 'The revival of Adana Demirspor is only possible with the joint efforts of the fans, club management, local governments, and all city dynamics. This is not just a matter of finding financial resources; it is a change in understanding. We must adopt an approach that plans for the future, not just one that saves the day.'
'ADANA DEMİRSPOR MUST LIVE' Kandemir stated that the call for help was initiated by the fans and expressed that the true owner of the club is the fans. Kandemir said, 'Adana Demirspor belongs to its people and fans again. As we always say, this club can only rise with the selfless and sincere love of its fans. Adana Demirspor must live because this club is the hope and greatest value of a whole city. Just like in the past, when we unite, no power can stand in our way. We have always thwarted the games played against us together. We fell to the ground, but we never let the emblem fall. When we open our eyes in the morning, we said, 'One morning the sun will rise, and we will rebuild this city with bricks of love.' That morning is today. Now is the time to fight. Now is the time to rise. Yes, we are face to face again. With this awareness, we are launching a completely transparent, reliable, and auditable campaign. We have designed a support process that will proceed with the permission and control of the Governorate, supported by the state. We hope to gather around the same table with all district municipalities, especially the Adana Metropolitan Municipality, and work together to revive Adana Demirspor. We are ready to enthusiastically support the new administrations that will be formed and to carry out the process together. We will be grateful to everyone who contributes even a drop of water to this club's fire,' he said.
THE CAMPAIGN WILL BE CONDUCTED UNDER GOVERNORATE SUPERVISION Kandemir announced that the total debt of Adana Demirspor club is 884 million 354 thousand lira and said:
'An account has been opened under the control of the Governorate, and the association management will only be able to spend from this account with the permission of the Governorate. All collected revenues will be used for the most urgent payments. Additionally, in discussions with the president regarding the transfer of shares from the club, a promise has been made that shares will be transferred to the Adana Demirspor Club Association in proportion to the collected revenue. We expect the notary process to be completed within a week for this promise to become legal. Our campaign is not just a call for help; it is also the beginning of a new management understanding that will take ownership of the club. During this process, we received support from important figures like Fatih Terim and Turhan Demirdal. Our former managers expressed that they are with us. Some former footballers we spoke with also said they would support the campaign as much as they can and waive their receivables. We wholeheartedly believe that our artists from Adana will also be with us in this struggle on digital platforms.'
