The AK Party Headquarters has referred Adapazarı Mayor Mutlu Işıksu, whose name has been involved in rumors of an illicit affair, to the disciplinary committee with a request for his expulsion.
New details regarding the "forbidden love" allegations at Sakarya Adapazarı Municipality have emerged in the public eye. The alleged six-month "obscene" correspondence between Mayor Mutlu Işıksu and his Private Secretary Elif Saçar was brought to light by Saçar's daughter, Ceyda Saçar.
STEPPED UP TO THE PODIUM, WHAT SHE SAID SHOCKED EVERYONE
22-year-old law student Ceyda Saçar took the podium at a meeting attended by the Chief Ombudsman Mehmet Akarca in Sakarya and voiced the allegations. Saçar stated that Işıksu threatened her and filed a lawsuit against her for 50 million TL in moral damages.
THE INCIDENT WAS BROUGHT TO THE GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND CIMER
It has come to light that the young law student previously reported the issue to the Grand National Assembly's Petition Commission, the Women and Men Equal Opportunities Commission (KEFEK), and CIMER. In the petition submitted to the Assembly, Ceyda Saçar stated: "I am the daughter of Elif Saçar, who works in the private office of Adapazarı Municipality. I have a six-month correspondence between my mother and Adapazarı Mayor Mutlu Işıksu, as well as a photo sent to my mother by Mutlu Işıksu around 02:50 at night. While the correspondence is obscene, there are also communications related to the municipality's internal affairs. He claimed that I was doing this and that I was schizophrenic. The mayor also filed a lawsuit against me for blackmail. My aunts have known about the incident from the very beginning. They were helping my mother meet with Mutlu Işıksu. My aunt was hired at the municipality during this process."
DISCIPLINARY PROCESS INITIATED AGAINST IŞIKSU
While the repercussions of the incident continue, it has been learned that the AK Party Central Executive Board has initiated a disciplinary process against Mutlu Işıksu. It was reported that no official notification regarding the initiated disciplinary process has yet reached Adapazarı Municipality.
HOW THE PROCESS WILL CONCLUDE IS A MATTER OF CURIOSITY
In the AK Party, the disciplinary process regarding mayors and deputies that have controversial developments reflected in the public is initiated directly by the central headquarters. How the process will conclude will become clear after the investigations are conducted.
DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS
On the other hand, Mayor Mutlu Işıksu denied the allegations. Işıksu, who claimed that the Saçar family was "blackmailing" him, filed a counterclaim for 50 million TL against the family and reported the matter to the prosecutor's office.
