The ceasefire decision in the Middle East has lowered oil prices, and a double discount on fuel has been reflected at the pump. At midnight, the price of diesel was reduced by 12.86 TL per liter, and the price of gasoline was reduced by 1.07 TL per liter. Following this discount, the price of diesel, which had reached historic highs, fell to the level of 73 lira.
The attacks by the US and Israel on Iran and the retaliations by the Tehran administration led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for oil transit, causing a serious crisis in global energy markets. While these developments pushed Brent oil prices up, there were consecutive increases in fuel prices.
PRICES FELL AFTER THE CEASEFIRE
As a result of diplomatic contacts between the US and Iran, the parties agreed to a two-week pause in the attacks that have been ongoing for about 40 days. The decrease in oil prices after the ceasefire was directly reflected in fuel prices.
