Adapazarı Mayor Mutlu Işıksu, who has been in the news due to allegations of an illicit affair, has resigned from his party. In his statement, Işıksu said, "Until the court concludes; I am temporarily resigning from my party, to which I have always been wholeheartedly devoted and of which I am proud and honored to be a member and a soldier."
Adapazarı Mayor Mutlu Işıksu announced his resignation from his party through a statement on his social media account. Işıksu, who has been in the news due to allegations of an illicit affair, said, "My legal struggle against the systematic slander, conspiracy, and blackmail process directed at me continues resolutely."
Mutlu Işıksu's statement is as follows:
"My legal struggle against the systematic slander, conspiracy, and blackmail process directed at me continues resolutely.
I have no doubt that these dirty plots, of which I have never been a part, will be proven false in the presence of independent courts. I am one hundred percent sure that everything will be clearly revealed in court, with God's permission.
I leave to God those who orchestrated this conspiracy, those who spread it, and those who turned the process into a political lynching and operation.
"I AM RESIGNING FOR NOW"
In order to prevent our cause and party from being harmed in the upcoming process until the court concludes; I am resigning for now from my party, to which I have always been wholeheartedly committed and of which I am honored and proud to be a member and soldier.
The truth will surely manifest.
I will continue to work diligently for our beloved Adapazarı, which I hold dearer than my life, and to serve our nation, God willing."
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
A 22-year-old law student had told the Chief Public Inspector Mehmet Akarca, who came to the district, that his mother had an affair with Adapazarı Mayor Mutlu Işıksu, and that he was threatened after reporting the situation, and that a compensation lawsuit of 50 million TL had been filed against him. Following the allegations against Işıksu, the AK Party Central Executive Board took action and referred him to the Central Disciplinary Board with a request for expulsion.
