THE SIGNATURE EXPECTED FROM THE MINISTRY HAS BEEN OBTAINED
AK Party İzmir Deputy Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu announced that the joint usage protocol prepared between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has been signed by the ministry.
Kasapoğlu stated that the municipality can now initiate the process and said that the construction phase for the stadium can now begin. Reminding that significant sports investments have been realized in İzmir during his term in the ministry, Kasapoğlu said, "The Alsancak Mustafa Denizli Stadium and Gürsel Aksel Stadium were completed despite the pandemic conditions. Approximately 500 million lira worth of foundation pile work has been done at Karşıyaka Stadium. The existing ground has been prepared at a serious cost, and the municipality will build on this ground," he stated.
THE PROTOCOL HAS BEEN ARRANGED ACCORDING TO THE MUNICIPALITY'S REQUESTS
Kasapoğlu noted that İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay expressed his desire to take on the stadium project after taking office, and provided the following information about the process: "We said, 'Of course, why not?' If the mayor wants, we will support him. Our ministry prepared a draft protocol. I personally conveyed this draft to the municipality along with our Secretary General Eyyüp Kadir İnan and our Provincial Chairman Bilal Saygılı. During the process, some requests for adjustments came from the municipality, and work was done accordingly. As a result, the joint usage protocol was approved in the form completely desired by the municipality."
Kasapoğlu stated that the ministry will send the official letter to the municipality shortly, saying, "But if I go earlier, I will personally present the letter to the mayor."
'SPORT INVESTMENTS WILL BE ARRANGED IN İZMİR'
Thanking Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak for his support, Kasapoğlu emphasized that sports investments will continue in İzmir. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu said, "Our aim is the happiness of İzmir and the people of İzmir. Our sports investments continue all over the city. As a child of İzmir and a deputy, we will continue to work with a production-oriented understanding," he said. Kasapoğlu also added that they will continue to work with the same determination for Karşıyaka, recalling the modern stadiums provided to the Göztepe, Altay, and Altınordu communities.
