It has been revealed that the vehicle used by Adem Soytekin, one of the suspects detained in the investigations into 'corruption' and 'terror' related to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), was allocated to a public prosecutor who has a protection order. It has been learned that a criminal complaint has been filed with the Supreme Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) against the prosecutor who is alleged to have provided this arrangement that gives an advantage in traffic to Soytekin.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing investigations against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and 99 suspects for crimes including "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "interfering with a tender." Additionally, investigations have been initiated against İmamoğlu, IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, and 7 other suspects, including Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, for the crime of "aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization."
UNLAWFUL 'FLASHING LIGHT' FAVOR FROM THE PROSECUTOR While the procedures for the IMM Mayor and the accompanying suspects are ongoing at the police station, another striking detail has emerged regarding one of the detainees, businessman Adem Soytekin. It has been revealed that he was insured at İmamoğlu Construction, worked as a plasterer for a period, and disproportionately became wealthy after Ekrem İmamoğlu became mayor. It was determined that the vehicle used by Adem Soytekin was unlawfully provided to him by a prosecutor who has a protection order.
USED A VEHICLE RENTED TO THE PROSECUTOR During the investigation conducted by the Financial Crimes Unit of the Istanbul Police Department, it was determined that businessman Adem Soytekin, who is in custody, was using various priority and superior "flashing light" vehicles. The police, who conducted technical and physical surveillance on the vehicle used by Soytekin, confirmed that he personally used the vehicle, which was found to have a flashing light system. As a result of the investigation, it was learned that the vehicle was rented to a prosecutor stationed in Muğla, who has a protection order, but was still in the possession of Adem Soytekin. It was also determined that the prosecutor, who works in another province, never came to Istanbul, and that Adem Soytekin traveled in Istanbul traffic with unjustified priority and superiority using the flashing light vehicle. The police, who identified that the vehicle was rented to a prosecutor stationed in Muğla with a protection order and who never came to Istanbul, revealed that Soytekin unlawfully traveled in Istanbul traffic with a vehicle that had priority and superiority.
PTS RECORDS DISPROVED HIS STATEMENT On the other hand, during the statement process, the police also questioned Adem Soytekin regarding the flashing light vehicle. In his response, Soytekin stated that he did not know the relevant prosecutor and that he used the vehicle during the period it was brought to Istanbul for repairs. However, Soytekin's statement was disproved by the PTS (Plate Recognition System) records. The police's technical and physical surveillance reports and PTS records contradicted Soytekin's claims, as noted in the investigation reports. It was understood that the prosecutor in question, who has a protection order and is stationed in Muğla, never came to Istanbul with that vehicle.
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THE PROSECUTOR TO HSK Additionally, it has been learned that a criminal complaint has been filed with the Judges and Prosecutors Council (HSK) by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the prosecutor who is alleged to have unlawfully allocated the flashing light vehicle to Soytekin.
