After the 3-0 defeat in the last match of the Fenerbahçe Medicana Men's Volleyball Team, a separation occurred. The yellow-navy team parted ways with Serbian head coach Slobodan Kovac by mutual agreement. Meanwhile, Taner Atik has been appointed to the position.
Finally, Fenerbahçe Medicana Men's Volleyball Team, which lost 3-0 to Ziraat Bankkart, announced that they have parted ways with Serbian Head Coach Slobodan Kovac by mutual agreement.
SEPARATION WITH SLOBODAN KOVAC
In a statement made by the yellow-navy blue club, it was said, "We have mutually agreed to part ways with Mr. Slobodan Kovac, who has been serving as the head coach of our Fenerbahçe Medicana Men's Volleyball Team and is also the head coach of our National Team. Due to the nature of professional sports, clubs sometimes seek new structures. This decision does not overshadow the respect we have for our coach's coaching quality and the values he has contributed to Turkish volleyball."
The statement emphasized that the success of the national team is a common ground for everyone, and included the following expressions:
"The successes that Mr. Slobodan Kovac has brought and will bring to our country under our crescent-star emblem are above any club competition. We will continue to be one of his biggest supporters in every match he leads our national team. We would like to particularly emphasize that we are managing this process in a transparent, constructive, and responsible manner, without harming the goals of our federation and national team. We thank Mr. Slobodan Kovac for his efforts for our club and wish him success in the tournaments he will participate in with our national team and in his future career."
TANER ATIK APPOINTED TO THE POSITION
On the other hand, Fenerbahçe Medicana Men's Volleyball Team announced that they have reached an agreement with head coach Taner Atik.
In a statement made by the yellow-navy blue club, it was stated, "Our Fenerbahçe Medicana Men's Volleyball Team has reached an agreement with head coach Taner Atik. With over 20 years of coaching experience, Taner Atik has taken on significant responsibilities across a wide range of areas, from youth teams to national teams, and from European cups to Middle Eastern leagues, achieving important successes both in sports and management. We say 'Welcome to our family' to Mr. Taner Atik and wish him a period filled with successes and championships under our yellow-navy blue jersey."
LASTLY WORKED IN THE UAE
Experienced coach Taner Atik most recently worked at the Al Ain club in the United Arab Emirates in his career.
