The Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş, made a highly discussed statement regarding the terrorist organization PKK's decision to lay down arms and dissolve.
"WITH MEMBERS OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION..."
Yavaş, who stated, "Of course, a Turkey without terrorism is the longing and goal of all of us," emphasized that "any concession that would disturb or upset the citizens of the Republic of Turkey, or any initiative that would bring the state of the Republic of Turkey to the point of bargaining with members of the terrorist organization cannot and should not be allowed."

"As a result of the determined struggle that our country has been carrying out uninterruptedly for years, especially by our Turkish Armed Forces, the terrorist organization PKK has decided to lay down its arms and dissolve. It is impossible for us to oppose the current situation, which we evaluate as a result of our country's policies that do not give any respite to terrorism and terrorist organizations."

Of course, a Turkey without terrorism is the longing and goal of all of us. It should not be forgotten that we have reached this point with the thousands of martyrs we have given. We cannot upset their souls or the families entrusted to us under any circumstances.
CALL FOR A REFERENDUM
The Republic of Turkey must carry out the process transparently, adhering to the law and our constitutional order. The sole address of this process is the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Authority, oversight, and will should only be shaped under this roof, where the nation is represented. The Lausanne Agreement is the title deed of a homeland won under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk; it is the guarantee of living together in these lands.
