ERCAN ÖZTÜRK WAS DRIVING THE CAR
In the horrific traffic accident on the Düzce-Akçakoca highway, one person lost their life and two were injured.
According to the information obtained, the Skoda car with license plate 06 ER 081, driven by AK Party Düzce Deputy Ercan Öztürk, which was traveling from Düzce towards Akçakoca, collided with a Fiat Tofaş car with license plate 81 AD 932, driven by Metin Sarıbaş, which was trying to enter the road from an intersection.
THE CAR WAS SHATTERED BY THE IMPACT
The car was virtually shattered by the force of the violent collision. Upon notification by those who witnessed the accident, numerous medical, police, gendarmerie, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene. In the initial examination by medical teams, it was determined that the driver of the Tofaş vehicle, Metin Sarıbaş, died at the scene.
THE DEPUTY AND HIS SON WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL
Deputy Ercan Öztürk, who survived the accident with minor scratches, and his son Muhammet Öztürk, who was with him in the vehicle, were taken to the hospital by ambulances for treatment after receiving first aid at the scene. It was learned that the general health condition of the injured is good.
TRAFFIC WAS PROVIDED UNDER CONTROL
Due to the horrific accident, transportation on the Düzce-Akçakoca highway was provided in a controlled manner from a single lane for a while. After the teams completed their investigations at the scene and the vehicles involved in the accident were removed with the help of a tow truck, traffic flow returned to normal.
The prosecutor's office launched a comprehensive investigation into the fatal accident.
