AK Party Diyarbakır Deputy Galip Ensarioğlu harshly criticized Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's statements regarding the "SDF." Ensarioğlu stated, "Hakan Fidan's remarks on Syria's policy do not fully reflect the spirit of the times. The final authority is the President; anyone who acts contrary to the President's will should either resign or be dismissed from their position."
AK Party Diyarbakır Member of Parliament Mehmet Galip Ensarioğlu harshly criticized Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's statements regarding Turkey's Syria policy and the terrorist organization SDG.
"EITHER RESIGN OR BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE"
In a program he attended on Rudaw TV, Ensarioğlu evaluated the process, stating, "In our presidential system, the will that determines policy is the will of the President. A person who shows an attitude contrary to the President's will either resigns or is removed from office."
Ensarioğlu said, "In such important matters for Turkey, regardless of their title, there cannot be a will above the President's will, and no one can put forth a will against it." He added, "It can be said that there are some harshnesses in Hakan Fidan's statements regarding Syria policy or that expressions that do not fully reflect the spirit of the time have been used; I express this as my personal opinion. However, ultimately, the final policy is determined by the President, and he has the final word."
"I DO NOT FIND THE MEETING APPROPRIATE FOR THE SPIRIT OF THE TIME"
Evaluating the meeting planned by the DEM Party on January 4, Ensarioğlu expressed that he does not find this initiative appropriate in terms of timing. "Of course, every political party is free regarding its political activities and makes its own decisions; however, I do not find this meeting appropriate for the spirit of the time and the period," said Ensarioğlu, adding: "Even Öcalan does not find it appropriate to discuss his future at this stage in the resolution process, and since we have made such an important progress, steps that would disrupt the environment should be avoided. I believe that unnecessary actions that would create sensitivity, fuel counter-nationalism, and provide material for those who want to sabotage this process should not be taken. Personally, I do not find the timing of this meeting appropriate."
WHAT DID HAKAN FIDAN SAY?
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated in a program broadcast on TRT World: "We do not want to be forced to resort to military means again, but 'SDG' must understand that the patience of the relevant actors is running out. They must reach a point where they fulfill their commitments to the March 10 Agreement. Everyone expects them to fulfill this agreement without delay and distortion because we do not want to see a deviation from this agreement. At the end of the day, you know, our Syrian partners in Damascus also see this as a very important step for their national unity. In a sense, I am optimistic. I believe that if we use the right tactics, techniques, and forms of cooperation, we will reach our goal."
