Fenerbahçe's manager Ertan Torunoğulları made striking statements after the 1-0 victory against Beşiktaş in the Super League derby.
''IF A FIGHT IS NECESSARY, WE WILL DO WHAT IS REQUIRED''
Evaluating the victory, Ertan Torunoğulları also spoke about the championship race, saying, "We thank our supporters who believe in us. It was a sportsmanlike match. We could have broken the match earlier, but that's football. 3 points are nice, we continue on our way. We believe in our team and players. The opposing team does everything to change the agenda whenever they lose points. Our supporters should be at ease. We will follow every match of theirs! We want to be on the field, we do not want to fight! We do not want to strain Turkish football, but the referees are being influenced! We will be vigilant! We do not want to fight, but if a fight is necessary, we will do what is required!" he said.
''BEŞİKTAŞ DID NOT APPLY''
Continuing his words, Ertan Torunoğulları said, "We applied for an observer in the VAR room, but I don't know why Beşiktaş did not apply. I did not watch the penalty, the commentators will comment on that in the evening." he stated.
''HE MAY NOT HAVE WARMED UP PROPERLY''
Speaking about the reactions he received after the transfer period, Torunoğulları commented, "Whatever Fenerbahçe does is bad, but when rival teams do it, it's good. We had 4-5 clear chances today. Cherif would normally score those chances. He may not have warmed up properly since he came in later." he remarked.
''FENERBAHÇE WILL BE CHAMPION''
Additionally, in response to the championship question, Ertan Torunoğulları stated, "Mathematically, our chance continues. Fenerbahçe will be champion." he said.
