The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center warned Istanbul residents about the thunderstorm and heavy rain expected to be effective from the morning hours of Saturday, May 17.
In a statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), it was reported that the entire Marmara Region, especially Istanbul, is expected to be under the influence of a low-pressure system coming from the Central Mediterranean starting from tonight.
RAIN IS COMING ON SATURDAY
In the statement, it was noted that due to the system's influence, the wind is expected to blow at storm strength with short bursts starting from the morning hours of May 17, and it is anticipated that there will be thunderstorms and heavy rain showers.
WARNING TO ISTANBUL RESIDENTS
The statement indicated that the rains, which are expected to be effective until the evening hours, could be particularly strong until the afternoon, and citizens were warned to be prepared and cautious against adverse weather conditions.
