A fire broke out in the impound parking lot in the Yenimahalle district, completely burning 4 trucks loaded with alcohol, while 2 vehicles were damaged. The fire was brought under control by the fire brigade teams.
FIRE BROKE OUT IN TRUCKS LOADED WITH ALCOHOL
A fire broke out at the Ankara Police Department's Impound Parking Lot on Ankara Boulevard in Gazi Neighborhood during the afternoon hours. The fire, which started in one of the trucks loaded with alcohol seized during operations against illegal alcohol, quickly spread to other vehicles. In the area where a total of 9 vehicles were present, 6 trucks were engulfed in flames while 3 vehicles were rescued.
4 TRUCKS COMPLETELY BURNED
Upon notification, a large number of fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters intervened in the fire with water tankers, foam towers, and other equipment, while police teams provided support with water cannon vehicles. The fire was brought under control as a result of the teams' efforts. 4 trucks were completely burned, and 2 vehicles were also damaged.
In a statement made by the Ankara Governorship regarding the incident, it was stated, "A fire occurred around 14:20 in the open parking lot belonging to the Ankara Police Department located in our Yenimahalle district, starting from a vehicle. The fire has been extinguished as a result of the intervention of the fire brigade teams, and cooling efforts are ongoing. There are no injuries or fatalities apart from some vehicle and material damage. Technical and legal investigations regarding the cause of the fire and any responsible parties are ongoing."
