Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, who was arrested in the investigation of the armed attack that led to the death of football player Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, made striking statements in a letter sent from prison. Kalaycıoğlu, who claims she did not use the term "foot soldier" for Kundakçı, asserted that she was unaware of the weapon while recounting the events of the day and said, "I trust in justice."
Football player Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı's life was taken in a shooting attack, and Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, one of the 7 suspects arrested in connection with the incident, sent a letter through her lawyer from prison, responding to the allegations against her.
WHY DID SHE CALL KUNDAKCI 'A RUNNER'? In the letter she sent to SHOW News, Kalaycıoğlu stated that she wanted to clarify misunderstandings, especially regarding the term "runner," and shared details about the day of the incident. Kalaycıoğlu expressed that the young footballer had a big heart and was always eager to help everyone. She mentioned that due to their age difference, Kundakçı assisted Vahap Canbay with some of his daily tasks and drove his vehicle, and she clarified that her statement only described this situation. Kalaycıoğlu said, "I did not use the term runner for Kubilay. He was a big-hearted person who wanted to help all of us. In my statement, when asked to describe Kubilay's relationship with Canbay, I depicted that due to their age difference, he helped with Canbay's small tasks and errands and drove his vehicle."
WHAT HAPPENED ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT Kalaycıoğlu also referred to the process that began with Canbay's arrival in front of the studio where the incident occurred, stating that she did not take the situation seriously at that moment. She recounted that while she was leaving the studio to go to her mother, her boyfriend Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu told her, "If there is something important, let's inform the police," but she thought, "They will leave after waiting," and did not foresee the danger.
"I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE GUN" The 28-year-old Kalaycıoğlu also claimed in her letter that she was not aware of the gun being with Kadayıfçıoğlu and that she experienced a great shock at the moment of the attack. Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu concluded her words with, "The truth will come out. I trust in justice."
Canbay and Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu THE INCIDENT The incident occurred on the night of March 19 on Sıddık Street in Ümraniye. According to allegations, rapper Vahap Canbay from the group Canbay & Wolker wanted to reconcile with singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, with whom he had separated some time ago. Canbay asked his friend Kubilay Kundakçı (21), with whom he had a good relationship, for help. Kubilay Kundakçı went to the front of the studio where Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu was located, along with Vahap Canbay and his friends. While the group was waiting in the vehicle, suspects who allegedly arrived at the scene in luxury vehicles with flashing lights carried out the attack. One of the suspects, Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, opened fire on the group inside the vehicle. The 21-year-old footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who was hit by the bullets, was seriously injured. The young man was taken to the hospital but could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life.

Kalaycıoğlu claimed that Kundakçı did small jobs for Vahap Canbay, saying, "Vahap would use him as a driver when needed, and sometimes he would send him for grocery shopping. He did these tasks not for monetary compensation but out of his closeness to him. Sometimes Vahap would send Kubilay to me as well, he would help me and provide my transportation. He was a brother I loved very much. We had a sincere relationship. We would also meet and talk independently of Vahap."
Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu and Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu 7 SUSPECTS ARRESTED As part of the investigation launched regarding the incident, the suspects who were detained, including Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, İzzet Yıldızhan, the murder suspect Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, M.R., H.C.A., M.K., and E.T., were arrested and sent to prison.
