In the case regarding the concert expenses of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, where 5 detained and 14 defendants are being tried, the court decided to release all detained defendants under judicial control measures in the form of a travel ban.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a case against 14 individuals, 5 of whom are detained, on the grounds that the administration incurred a loss of 154 million 453 thousand 221 lira and 60 kuruş in expenses related to concerts organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality between 2021 and 2024, alleging that public damage occurred.

RELEASE OF ALL DETAINED DEFENDANTS

The first hearing of the case, which is being heard at the Ankara 34th Heavy Penal Court, was completed today after three days. After the defendants completed their defenses, the prosecutor requested the continuation of the detention of the detained defendants and the continuation of judicial control measures for the non-detained defendants regarding their exit from the country. After the break, the court announced its interim decision, ruling for the release of the detained defendants Hacı Ali Bozkurt, Haluk Erdemir, Hüseyin Zehir, Onur Evren, and Selahattin Çelikkaya under judicial control measures in the form of a travel ban. The hearing was adjourned to March 31.

WHAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE INDICTMENT?

The indictment requested prison sentences of up to 31 years and 6 months for the defendants, including former ABB Culture and Social Affairs Department Head Hacı Ali Bozkurt, former Deputy Director of Cultural Events Haluk Erdemir, former Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department Hüseyin Zehir, Onur Evren, owner of Evren Technical Group Music Organization Company, Selahattin Çelikkaya, partner of Festiva and Enfest Organization Company, Sıla Evren, owner of Universe Production Company, Kaan Alp, partner of Festiva and Enfest Organization, and ABB employee Celal Akbaş, for the crime of 'qualified embezzlement in a chain manner.' For Arda Akman, owner of Gurudan Tourism Organization Company, Alp Aykut Çıngır, Deputy Director of ABB Cultural Events, ABB employee Kurtuluş Bakır, Eren Demir, owner of Yalınayak Food Organization Company, Levent Erdoğan, partner of Yalınayak Food Organization Company, and Üstün Alpay, owner of Craft Art Organization Company, a prison sentence of up to 18 years was requested for the crime of 'qualified embezzlement.'
