Three members of the same family who died in a two-car collision in the Alaca district of Çorum were laid to rest on their final journey in their hometown of Yozgat. The bodies of 45-year-old mother Yasemin Sarpkaya and her children, 24-year-old Amine and 9-year-old Ömer Asaf Sarpkaya, were buried side by side following the funeral prayer.
In the traffic accident that occurred yesterday on the Çorum-Yozgat highway, the bodies of Yasemin Sarpkaya (45), who lost her life, and her children Amine (24) and Ömer Asaf Sarpkaya (9) were handed over to their relatives after procedures at the Alaca State Hospital morgue were completed.
The bodies of the mother and her two children, brought to their hometown Yozgat, were taken to Çapanoğlu Grand Mosque.
THE BODIES WERE LAID TO REST IN YOZGAT
After the funeral prayer performed at noon, the bodies of Yasemin Sarpkaya and her children Amine and Ömer Asaf Sarpkaya were buried in Çatak Cemetery.
In addition to relatives of the Sarpkaya family, Yozgat Mayor Kazım Arslan, AK Party Yozgat Provincial Chairman Hasan Kandemir and many citizens attended the funeral ceremony.
FOUR PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE TERRIBLE ACCIDENT
The accident occurred yesterday near Koçhisar Dam on the Çorum-Yozgat highway.
The car with license plate 66 ABL 208 driven by Ali Sarıaslan (61) collided with the car with license plate 34 FB 4234 driven by Şevket D.
In the accident, driver Ali Sarıaslan and Yasemin Sarpkaya and her children Amine and Ömer Asaf Sarpkaya, who were in the same vehicle, lost their lives.
The driver of the other car, Şevket D., and Mehmet Ö., who was in the car, were injured.
