The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) denied claims that National Team Technical Director Sergen Yalçın is having difficulty reaching some national team players. Describing the allegations as "figments of imagination and malicious speculation," the Federation announced that the players are satisfied with their meetings with the technical staff.
It had been claimed that National Team Head Coach Sergen Yalçın did not answer the phones of some national footballers on the grounds that they had criticized him in the past.
Following the claims, a statement came from the Turkish Football Federation. The Federation reported that the news claiming there was a communication problem between Yalçın and the national footballers did not reflect the truth.
"FABRICATED AND MALICIOUS SPECULATIONS"
The TFF's statement included the following remarks:
"On digital broadcasting channels, it is observed that claims have been voiced that our National Team Head Coach Sergen Yalçın has difficulty communicating with some of our national footballers. These and similar statements consist of fabricated and malicious speculations that do not reflect the truth."
"ALL OUR NATIONAL FOOTBALLERS ARE SATISFIED"
Stating that there is no problem between the head coach and the footballers, the Federation continued its statement as follows:
"Just as no situation of the kind alleged has occurred between the head coach of our National Team and our footballers, all our national footballers state that they are highly satisfied with the meetings and exchanges of ideas that Sergen Yalçın and his technical staff had with them."
"SUCH HARMFUL RHETORIC SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN CREDENCE"
In the final part of its statement, the TFF emphasized the unity and solidarity of the National Team and used the following expressions:
"As the Turkish Football Federation, we emphasize that no credence should be given to such harmful rhetoric, which targets the unity and solidarity of our National Team—the value of the Republic of Turkey, whose 103rd anniversary of foundation we are celebrating with enthusiasm today, and the common denominator of the Turkish Nation—and which aims to damage the bonds between our newly appointed technical staff and our footballers from the very first day."
