The Mayor of Görele, Hasbi Dede, gave a statement to the prosecutor's office as part of an investigation into allegations of "sexual harassment" against an individual via social media. Dede, who was referred to the peace criminal court with a request for arrest, was released under judicial control conditions.
The CHP Mayor of Görele, Hasbi Dede, was questioned at the Görele Public Prosecutor's Office as part of an investigation into allegations of "sexual harassment" against an individual via social media. After the statement procedures, the prosecutor referred Dede to the peace criminal court with a request for arrest.
THE COURT RENDERED ITS DECISION
The peace criminal court decided to release Dede under judicial control measures following the interrogation. A travel ban was imposed on Dede as part of the judicial control.
DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS
On the other hand, it was reported that some individuals using Dede's social media account were also questioned. It was learned that Mayor Hasbi Dede denied the allegations against him in his statement.
"I APOLOGIZE FOR EMBARRASSING YOU"
Dede, whose procedures were completed early in the morning, addressed the citizens waiting for him outside the courthouse, saying, "The allegations against me are not true, but I apologize for embarrassing you. From now on, we will continue to serve strongly. I will carry out the duty entrusted to me with a renewed oath on my honor and dignity. I will continue to explain the process to you. No one is without a protector, Görele is not without a protector; let everyone hear this," he said.
WHO IS HASBİ DEDE?
He was born in Görele in 1983. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Görele. He successfully completed his education in the Political Science department at International Dublin University. Between 2002 and 2020, he served as a football referee in professional leagues under the Turkish Football Federation. From 2018 to 2021, he held the position of President of the Giresun Branch of the Turkish Active Football Referees and Observers Association.
In 2020, he became a member of the Republican People's Party and took on the role of Chairman of the Commission Responsible for Social Policies in the Görele District Organization for about a year. He later served as the Deputy Provincial Chairman of the Republican People's Party in Giresun.
In the local elections on March 31, 2024, he was deemed worthy of being the candidate for Mayor of Görele by the Republican People's Party. Hasbi Dede, who received 4,393 votes (47.28%), began his term as the Mayor of Görele as the winner of the election, according to the public's approval. Since 2006, Hasbi Dede has been working as a contractor as the owner of Nilada Construction Food Transportation Industry Trade Ltd. He is married and a father of two daughters.
