AFAD announced that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4 occurred in the Germencik district of Aydın at 19:51.
According to the data shared by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) on their X account, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4 occurred at around 19:51, with its epicenter located in the Germencik district at a depth of 8.99 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt lightly in Germencik and other surrounding districts. It has been reported that there were no casualties or property damage during the earthquake.
JET ASSESSMENT FROM NACİ GÖRÜR
Geologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made an assessment on his social media account immediately after the earthquake. In his post, he stated, "There was a 4.0 (AFAD) or 3.9 (BU) earthquake in Aydın-Germencik. The earthquake is on the northern horst of the Büyük Menderes Graben. Undoubtedly, the fault is a normal fault."
