With the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, the interim government began efforts to improve the living conditions of the country's citizens. However, due to problems in the fuel distribution sector, fuel is unavailable at gas stations.

As a result, many people are frequently selling gasoline on the roadside due to the ongoing gasoline shortage. In a country where the current selling price of 1 liter of gasoline is 15,000 Syrian pounds, roadside vendors sell 1 liter of gasoline for prices ranging from 17,000 to 20,000 Syrian pounds. Some vendors also sell both gasoline and vegetables and fruits at the same stall on the roadside.

A taxi driver named Hassan Muhammed, who came to buy gasoline from a street vendor, stated, "Unfortunately, there is no fuel at gas stations, so we buy gasoline from here. We have no other choice. Assad ruined us and left."
