Deputy Mayor Ali İkram Tuna has been appointed as the new Acting Mayor of Şişli Municipality following an administrative change.
There has been another change in the position of Acting Mayor of Şişli.
In a statement made on the official social media account of Şişli Municipality, it was stated, "Our Acting Mayor of Şişli, Mr. Ali İkram Tuna, has commenced his duties."
“WE WILL USE ALL POSSIBILITIES AND RESOURCES DIRECTLY TO FACILITATE THE LIVES OF OUR CITIZENS” The statement, which also included a message from Acting Mayor Tuna, noted the following: "As of today, we have begun our duties as the Acting Mayor of Şişli to serve our district, the heart of our business, art, and cultural world. Throughout the time we carry this trust entrusted to us, we will base our approach on a management understanding that identifies problems on site, includes our people in the solution, and is impartial, equal, and fair. With a transparent and accountable approach, we will use all the possibilities and resources of Şişli Municipality solely and exclusively for the public benefit, directly to facilitate the lives of our citizens. I extend my gratitude to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, who entrusted me with this duty, which I hope will be auspicious for Şişli and all our citizens whose path passes through Şişli."
Ali İkram Tuna WHAT HAD HAPPENED? Nearly 100 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, and Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, were detained on March 19, 2025.
After Şahan was arrested on March 23, he was suspended from his duties by the Ministry of Interior, and Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen was appointed as a trustee in his place.
In a statement made by Şişli Municipality on May 12, it was announced that Istanbul Deputy Governor Ayhan Terzi had commenced his duties as the Acting Mayor of Şişli.
