Following the conflicts between Israel and Iran, the rising oil prices continue to be reflected as an increase in fuel costs. The price of diesel, which has increased for the third time in five days, will exceed 50 lira in many cities starting from midnight tonight.

The rising Israel-Iran tension in the Middle East has begun to show its effects not only in the region but also in global energy markets. Following the conflicts, the price of brent oil per barrel rose to 76 dollars and stabilized at 73 dollars. This increase has directly affected fuel prices in Turkey.

3 PRICE INCREASES IN 5 DAYS

Recently, the series of price increases in fuel prices has drawn attention.

  • On Friday, June 13, gasoline prices increased by 1 lira and 47 kuruş,
  • On Saturday, June 14, diesel prices also saw an increase of 1 lira and 47 kuruş.
  • As of tonight, diesel prices will increase by 1 lira and 70 kuruş.

With this development, fuel prices will have increased for the third time in just five days.

HOW ARE PRICES CALCULATED?

In Turkey, fuel prices are determined based on the duty-free refinery price. This price is calculated by adding the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) and the EPDK share to create the refinery sales price excluding VAT. The duty-free refinery price is determined based on the daily CIF Mediterranean product prices published in the Mediterranean-Italian market and the daily dollar exchange rate.

Due to fluctuations in international markets and movements in the exchange rate, it is expected that fuel prices in Turkey will continue to vary in the coming days.
