With the new regulation, the lowest priced cigarette in the group has risen to 105 TL, while the price of the most expensive product has become 115 TL. The increased prices started to be implemented at retailers as of February 18, 2026.
THE FIRST PRICE INCREASE NEWS CAME FROM THE JTI GROUP
The first price increase announcement came from the JTI group. According to the updated list, the lowest priced cigarette in the group has risen to 100 TL. The price of the most expensive cigarette has been set at 115 TL. The increase was not limited to packaged cigarettes. The regulation, which also affects those who use rolling tobacco, has raised the price of 100 grams of shredded tobacco to 265 TL.

On the other hand, cigarette use is cited as one of the most common causes of lung cancer. It is stated that the inhalation of cigarette smoke by non-smokers, known as "passive smoking," increases the risk of lung cancer by 24 percent.
