400 TOURISTS EVACUATED FROM A 5-STAR HOTEL

In the Gündoğdu neighborhood, due to heavy rain in the morning hours, the Şarlayık Stream overflowed, flooding the ground and pool area of a 5-star hotel. FAMOUS TOURISM CENTER UNDER WATER

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued an orange code warning for today in the eastern districts of Antalya, including Serik, where rain started at night and continued without interruption, paralyzing life in the district. In Belek, one of Serik's famous tourist centers, roads turned into lakes after the rain, and malfunctioning vehicles were trapped on the roads. While vehicles were removed from their locations by tow trucks, other drivers struggled to navigate the water-filled streets. Most villas and apartments in the area were also surrounded by water. Some residents could not exit their homes due to the flooding at the entrances, while those outside had difficulty getting inside.

"IT RAINED CONTINUOUSLY"

It was not a situation that could be prevented. Many vehicles were stranded on the road. This is how we are entering our homes; we are in a bad situation." Another neighborhood affected by the rainfall was Akçaalan. The roads in the neighborhood were submerged due to the heavy rain, and some homes and businesses were flooded. On the other hand, it is predicted that the heavy rain will decrease in intensity during the night hours.

CARRIED ON HIS BACK

In the Akçaalan neighborhood of Serik, some streets and the gardens of houses were flooded due to the heavy rain. İbrahim Kozak (75) and Ayşe Kozak (72), whose house and garden were filled with water, informed their children. The couple was rescued from their home, which had about half a meter of water inside, by their children. The fire brigade team that arrived at the scene also carried out water drainage work. In the same neighborhood, Yalçın Bodur (86), who lived in a single-story house, had his garden and house flooded.
