HE WENT LIVE AND STABBED EVERYONE IN FRONT OF HIM
In August 2024, in the Tepebaşı district, wearing a helmet, face mask, protective goggles, and a tactical vest, Arda Küçükyetim came to Şehit Rüstem Demirbaş Park in the Uluönder neighborhood. At the tea garden there, he stabbed Tevfik Arslan (72), Cumali Özemek (58), Naşit Özyürek (88), Metin Korkmaz (65), and Cemal Altıntaş (52) with a knife. Küçükyetim also live-streamed these moments on his social media account via a phone mounted on his tactical vest.
75 YEARS AND 5 MONTHS IN PRISON
After the incident, Arda Küçükyetim was caught by police and arrested on charges of 'Attempted premeditated murder' and 'Threat to create fear and panic among the public,' and was placed in prison. Tried at the Eskişehir 6th Heavy Penal Court, Küçükyetim was sentenced to 75 years and 5 months in prison in the verdict hearing last September for the crimes of 'Attempted premeditated murder' and 'Threat to create fear and panic.'
ENDED HIS LIFE IN PRISON
After the incident, Arda Küçükyetim was arrested at the Eskişehir Courthouse on August 18, 2024. Following approximately 1 year and 10 months in prison, he ended his life by suicide in the evening hours. Küçükyetim's body was taken to the morgue at Eskişehir City Hospital for autopsy. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
