As the leadership crisis in CHP continues after the "absolute nullity" decision, it was claimed that arrested Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık would not join the New Party to be founded by Özgür Özel. Çalık was alleged to have said, "I will not leave my father's home. I do not understand why this new party was founded either."

MEHMET MURAT ÇALIK'S SIDE IS CLEAR
Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested within the scope of a corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and removed from his post as the Mayor of Beylikdüzü, has made his position clear. Journalist Barış Yarkadaş claimed that Çalık will not take part in the formation to be established by Özel and will continue on his path within CHP.

According to information conveyed by Yarkadaş, Çalık stated that he cannot understand the 'New Party' initiative, using the following expressions: "I will not leave the paternal home. I also cannot understand why this new party was founded."
