The Warning and Alarm System (IKAS), established in Samsun through the collaboration of AFAD and ASELSAN, will be tested on Thursday, July 23. As part of the test, which will start at 14:30, sirens will sound and an announcement will be made. The governorship has requested that citizens not be concerned or panicked due to the test broadcast.

The Samsun Governorship Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate announced that a siren test will be conducted for the Warning and Alarm System (IKAS), which has been installed throughout the province. Citizens were asked not to panic upon hearing the sounds and announcements.

In the announcement made by the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate, it was reported that the works in the province have been completed within the scope of the "Warning and Alarm System Installation Project" carried out under the coordination of AFAD Presidency, based on Article 24 of the Civil Defense Law No. 7126. Details regarding the test broadcast of the domestic and national project implemented in collaboration with AFAD and ASELSAN were shared with the public.

TEST DATE ANNOUNCED: WILL LAST 30 SECONDS

According to the statement, the test of the siren system across the province will take place on Thursday, July 23, at 14:30. During the test, the following announcement will be made via the sirens: "Attention, attention! This is a test broadcast of the Warning and Alarm System installed in our province. Please do not panic!"

Afterwards, a fluctuating siren sound lasting 30 seconds will be accompanied by a red alarm.
