A man who got into an elevator in Mumbai, India, suddenly had the gas-filled balloons in his hand explode. The elevator was engulfed in flames, and those inside jumped out in fear. Those moments were captured on security cameras.

In an incident that occurred in a building in Mumbai, India, a person boarding the elevator with a large number of balloons narrowly escaped a disaster.

BALLOONS EXPLODED IN THE ELEVATOR

For an unknown reason, balloons that suddenly exploded before the elevator cabin moved turned the interior into a fireball within seconds. Footage captured by security cameras showed that those inside the elevator panicked and threw themselves outside, narrowly escaping the flames.

Initial investigations suggest the possibility that the balloons contained hydrogen gas, which is much cheaper but extremely flammable, instead of helium.
