A fight broke out at the CHP's district congress in Esenyurt, Istanbul. During the congress, a party delegate who was speaking said, "You are working behind the scenes by not saying anything about the appointed trustee for the provincial presidency and sharing pictures of Gürsel Tekin," which led to kicks and punches flying in the air. The incident was captured on the cellphone cameras of those nearby.
The congress of the CHP in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul, which was halted by the district election board, resumed today after the Supreme Election Council (YSK) lifted the decision.
'CUSTODIAN' AND 'GÜRSEL TEKİN' CRITICISM SPARKED A SCUFFLE
During the program that started at 10:00 AM with the candidates' speeches at the Rıfat Ilgaz Open-Air Theater, tensions suddenly escalated. A party delegate speaking at the congress said, "You are working behind the scenes by not opposing those who do not go to those squares and the custodian, and by sharing pictures of Gürsel Tekin," which led to a scuffle.
KICKS AND PUNCHES FLEW IN THE AIR
It was reported that there were injuries during the scuffle where kicks and punches were thrown. Police teams dispatched to the scene separated the parties and took security measures around the hall.
