Tensions arose between members of the CHP Youth Branch and the police before a rally organized in Ankara with the slogan "Against Tutelage, for Democracy" at the call of CHP leader Özgür Özel. A scuffle broke out between the police and the large crowd when some banners were not allowed to enter the rally area at a security checkpoint. During the brief altercation, in which the police intervened with tear gas, 6 people were detained.

Before the rally, members of the CHP Youth Branches gathered at Güvenpark and marched to Tandoğan Square with banners and slogans.
SCUFFLE AT THE CHECKPOINT
As the CHP Youth Branches' procession, supported by the People's Liberation Party and the DİSK General İş Union, reached the Maltepe entrance of the rally area, tensions arose. A scuffle occurred between the police and the large group when some banners were not allowed to enter the rally area at the checkpoint.
6 PEOPLE DETAINED
It was reported that 6 people were detained during the brief scuffle, in which the police intervened with tear gas. Some individuals were seen walking towards the area after breaching the police barricades at the checkpoint.
