Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani, in a statement calling for the establishment of an "Islamic Alliance" against Israel, said, "There is no obstacle for Islamic countries to have a common alliance for defense."

Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia Sudani, made statements regarding Israel's attack on Qatar's capital, Doha. Condemning the attack, Prime Minister Sudani called for the establishment of an "Islamic Alliance" against Israeli assaults.

In the context of combating this threat, the Iraqi Prime Minister called for Islamic countries to declare a political, security, and economic alliance, stating that "there is no obstacle for Islamic countries to have an alliance in the form of a common security force for defense."

"THE ATTACK ONCE AGAIN REVEALED THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT'S ATTITUDE"

While characterizing the attack, Sudani stated, "A shocking event and a violation of all international laws and customs. The attack once again revealed the aggressive and criminal attitude of the Israeli government." The Iraqi Prime Minister also emphasized that the attack was an aggression against Qatar, Iraq's brotherly state, and highlighted that it posed a threat to the security of all countries in the region.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On September 9, Israel carried out an airstrike on Qatar's capital, Doha, targeting a Hamas delegation gathered in the capital. In a statement made by Hamas, it was reported that 5 Hamas members, including the son of Gaza Leader Khalil al-Hayya, and 1 personnel from Qatari security forces lost their lives in the attack, but it was noted that the assassination attempt on the Hamas delegation was "unsuccessful." The statement said, "This incident once again shows that the occupation wants to undermine the chances of reaching an agreement."

The international community reacted consecutively to the attack, with many countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Canada, condemning Israel's assault. In a joint statement released by the United Nations (UN) Security Council, the attack in Doha was condemned without naming Israel.
