Mohammad Hossein Ranjbaran, the advisor to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, announced that the security forces thwarted an assassination attempt planned by Israel against Araghchi in Tehran. Ranjbaran stated, "If it weren't for the measures taken by our security forces, perhaps a major conspiracy planned by Israel in Tehran would have been carried out a few days ago."
The advisor to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi, Mohammad Hussein Ranjbaran, announced on his social media account that an assassination attempt against Arakchi has been thwarted.
Ranjbaran stated that after the announcement of Arakchi's trip to Geneva, Switzerland, for nuclear negotiations with the Foreign Ministers of the UK, France, and Germany, many people reached out to him expressing their concern, "Will the Zionist regime target him?"
"THERE WAS SUCH A THREAT AND THERE STILL IS"
In his post, Ranjbaran said, "Yes, there was such a threat and there still is. However, Arakchi sees himself not only as a foreign minister but also as a member of the homeland, and like his beloved Qassem Soleimani, he desires martyrdom."
"IF PRECAUTIONS HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN, A GREAT PLOT WOULD HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT"
Emphasizing that the assassination attempt was unsuccessful, Ranjbaran stated, "If it weren't for the precautions taken by our security forces, perhaps a major plot planned by Israel in Tehran would have been carried out a few days ago. Thank God this attempt failed. Let us pray for Arakchi and our other diplomats in this inhumane world. May they be successful in defending Iran's rights."
