Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality continues the reinforcement works carried out against earthquake risk at the Göztepe Bridge; during the process of renewing the expansion joints, two lanes on the D-100 Highway will be narrowed for 20 days starting from today.
Strengthening works continue on bridges at risk of the effects of a possible earthquake in Istanbul. In this context, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has initiated a new project on the Göztepe Bridge located on the Asian side.
WORKS CONTINUE ON GÖZTEPE BRIDGE
It has been reported that the strengthening works on the foundations and beams of the Göztepe Bridge, located on the D-100 Highway, have been completed. In the next phase of the works, the expansion joints on the bridge will be replaced.
TRAFFIC LANES WILL BE NARROWED
Due to the works to be carried out on the bridge, which is one of the busiest points of traffic in Istanbul, two lanes of the D-100 Highway in the Üsküdar-Göztepe direction will be narrowed starting today.
EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED IN 20 DAYS
In a statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, it was noted that the works on the Göztepe Bridge are expected to be completed in approximately 20 days.
